A quieter way to choose
Start with the space.
Then find the stone.
Photograph your aquarium straight on, with its lighting on and reflections kept to a minimum. Add its dimensions in your workspace.
Choose a geological direction
Layered slate brings ledges, terraces and a mountain-like rhythm. Rounded granite creates a softer riverbed. Keep colours and textures consistent within a group.
Give one piece the lead
Place a focal stone away from the centre, then use smaller companions to carry its direction. Leave room for plants, maintenance and open swimming space.
Try it in your tank
Open the studio, upload your photo and add rocks from the collection. Drag them into position, rotate them and move them in front of or behind other rocks. Each piece keeps its listed dimensions relative to your tank measurements. Use a straight-on photograph; perspective and outlines remain approximate.
Check the material
A rock's appearance does not establish its chemistry. Each real listing should explain its assessment and any effects on water hardness. Read the assessment for each piece before choosing it for submerged use.
